NUGGET is a trimmed-down version
of the LODE system found in Silver Branch products. It aims to be a simple tool for introducing
people to roleplaying games or putting a game together
in a hurry.
It's available as a FREE 2-page PDF. Obviously there's not enough room to cover a
particular style/genre really well, but it's enough
to play simple games where characters are basically
normal people, perhaps with special skills - horror,
crime, low fantasy, science fiction, monster collecting
or whatever. It's easy to carry around, adaptable and simple to
explain, while introducing people to some common
roleplaying concepts. You just need pencils, paper
and a pool of six-sided dice.
NUGGET has spawned the NUGGETS line: short,
self-contained RPGs that reprint the basic rules
in a less cramped form and build on them to support
particular genres and premises.

The

Modern people somehow acquire the power items
of ancient mythic figures - Thor's hammer, Monkey's
wishing staff, the sandals of Hermes and so on -
and get entangled in conflicts with shape-twisted
"demons" from outside our world as well
as other obstacles both magical and mundane. Arsenal
is written as a framework - it can be run in lots
of different styles, from young people taking on
an atmospheric and scary world they never suspected
to higher-powered anime-style monster hunters.

What if modern-day people became pulp adventurers? Dare is a self-contained
mini-game built around the NUGGET system, about thrilling adventures in a world
where self-reliance and decisive action are the exception, not the rule. It
introduces mechanics for the distinctive self-confidence of pulp characters,
which can carry them through or get them into trouble; pulp schticks; and
strains from normal life that can interrupt their adventures.

Games and fiction often cast characters as "Chosen
Ones", singled out for a heroic destiny and special powers. What if a world much like our own contained people who
were special because power had been taken away from them in some
supernatural manner? An aspect of reality wants nothing to do with them; people
overlook them; and they can't connect
to normal society. But still they seek
to make a difference, and with cunning and grit learn
how to use their afflictions to their advantage. They also have to deal with the spirit
realm known as the Dust Fields, and its denizens the Utukku that rasp away at
reality; and with the Visionaries who'll let nothing stand in the way of their
grand utopian causes.

These are some older game sketches to accompany
the NUGGET rules. They're free to download.
Grey Realms A fantasy setting module for NUGGET.
It uses standard fare - gods, elves, dwarves, orcs,
mages, priests - but looks at them from a different angle. It's
a world where people are flawed, from the gods on
down. Now
updated to v1.1. Does 50% extra material sound good?
Well, yes, it's gone on
to 3 pages. This little seed has grown into the Questers
of the Middle Realms game! See elsewhere for details.

Beastwalkers Billed
as "a sort of modern-day fantasy supernatural
thingy", and why not. With animal
and human faces the Children of the Moon walk alongside
humanity and fight lords of the world who are dead
inside. Might not mean what you think, and is quite
different from That Other Game. And That One. v1.0,
2 pages (told you it was different). 77k
